Position Summary: Lead management, implementation, and evaluation of CPS Department of Arts Education professional learning programs that impact student learning and increase student access to the arts:

Advanced Arts Program--examining quality high school arts instruction

Arts Liaisons and Lead Arts Liaisons--arts advocacy as professional practice

ArtView Poetry Program--writing and language arts integration
-
PDAE: Arts Teachers Leading Achievement and Success (ATLAS) program staff and guide its professional development content--arts and technology integration at the elementary school level; and future grant-funded PD programs.

District-wide professional learning for arts educators and school administrators
Other essential duties include:

Design and direct professional learning for the district’s arts teachers and administrators to engage standards-based, Common Core-aligned arts instruction.

Manage the drafting, editing, and reporting related to all grant-funded professional learning programs.

Identify professional learning needs of educators by continually examining achievement data of students and teacher evaluation outcomes.

Serve as the school district liaison to professional learning experiences for arts partners.

Lead the Department of Arts Education’s performance management programs, including establishing and document Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
This position will have 2.0 Full-Time Equivalent direct reports (1 full-time Coordinator, and 2 part-time staff) for whom the incumbent will manage and develop their professional growth and leadership opportunities.
Qualifications:

Type of Education Required: Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s in arts education, arts, and/or education. Illinois Teaching certificate, license, and/or endorsement(s) in visual arts with secondary preferred, but not required.

Knowledge of professional learning design pedagogies, and ability to engage adult learners

Experience with the CPS Framework for Teaching, and/or the Charlotte Danielson Framework

Data-based research experience, and the ability to set goals and objectives based on data-identified evidence

5 or more years of professional experience in a management or administrative capacity in arts administration, arts education, and/or professional development coordination, including managing staff

Ability to provide discipline-specific expertise in dance, theatre or visual arts

Ability to work directly with teachers and staff, and to address their unique learning needs to impact student achievement

Google Applications and Microsoft Office suite workflow experience is needed

Strong communication skills (speaking, listening, and writing)

Spanish language skills preferred

Basic design/photography, social media, and or web content management skills preferred
