Metacognition: The Key to Driving Deeper Learning
February 9, 2022
1.5 PD Hours
Live on Zoom

The teacher cannot be the only person in the classroom thinking about the students' learning. Students must be actively engaged in thinking about, monitoring, evaluating, and reflecting on their learning. Research shows that developing metacognition helps students to apply what they are learning (knowledge and skills) in new and novel contexts, improve their ability to be strategic and flexible learners, and develop resilience in the face of challenges. This session will focus on technology-infused strategies teachers can use to help students develop their metacognitive skills so they can be more active and engaged learners. Join us as Dr. Catlin Tucker facilitates this session and answers your questions about engaging students in deep learning! We encourage you to check out Catlin's new book, Balance with Blended Learning: Partner With Your Students to Reimagine Learning and Reclaim Your Life (2020). Click HERE to learn more.
