NEED KIDS EXCITED ABOUT LITERACY? YOU WILL LEARN TO HELP STUDENTS: DIFFERENTIATE, KNOW SOUNDS, SEE WORD PATTERNS, LEARN THE ALPHABET, DEVELOP VOCABULARY & MORE - ALL WHILE PLAYING GAMES!
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
Games are easy to differentiate and integrate into your literacy program; whole class and also perfect for small differentiated centers. The ideas are also easily transferable to literacy backpacks for home practice!
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Come prepared to play Jane's favorite games that work on the following concepts: learning the alphabet and its' sounds, word patterns and families, rhyme and spelling simple CVC words, vocabulary development, working with multi-syllable words, vowels, wordplay with synonyms, antonyms, questions, and more. The games incorporate literacy dice, letter tiles, word decks, and children's literature. Your handout will contain Black Line Masters so that you can play along, as well. Jane will share many easy-to-integrate dollar store finds to adapt the games and activities.
MATERIALS YOU WILL TAKE HOME
Handouts will contain gameboards that can be used right away in your classroom. Gain ideas for developing vocabulary and word knowledge that will be perfect for providing engaged practice to your students.
