Standards-Based LEARNING & GRADING To Create Independence and Grit in Student
Put the "WHY" of Standards-Based Grading
Before the "WHAT" and the "HOW"!

We will take a deep dive into not only the “WHAT” and “HOW” of standards-based LEARNING but the “WHY” as well. When you know your “why,” your “what” and “how” have more impact.
After building purpose on a strong foundation, attendees will roll up their sleeves and dig into tasks in which they will discover “what” components must be in place to effectively develop and use a standards-based learning model in both schools and classrooms. This session will empower attendees to make connections between standards, assessments, PLCs, RtI, and best practice instruction.
The final portion of the workshop will address the “how.” District, schools, and classroom teachers will develop an action plan for any level of implementation wherever they are in the process and regardless of their role in the system. Everyone will have time to develop action steps that will lead to greater clarity of purpose, a more impactful system for communicating growth and achievement, and ultimately a student-led learning environment in which students are their own teachers.
