Site Visits for Educators at Amundsen High School

In partnership with Illinois ASCD, Amundsen High School, a neighborhood CPS learning community located at 5110 N. Damen Chicago, welcomes fellow educators to visit our school community at the dates listed below. We are proud of our many accomplishments and invite you to visit our school and see for yourself the exciting things that are happening in urban education.

Your day begins with an introduction and overview by the Amundsen administration. Learn about our exciting programs and instructional activities. You will then have the opportunity to visit two academic classrooms of your choice. Please indicate your areas of interest on the registration form so a personalized schedule can be created for you.

In addition to visiting a variety of our academic classrooms, we also offer a number of unique programs that may be of interest to you. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to observe some of these unique programs.  International Baccalaureate (IB), Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID), attend a course team meeting (PLC), Dual-Credit (DC), Pre-Engineering (only offered during period 8) and special education classes (SPED).

We will then gather together for a Q & A, brown bag lunch meeting to debrief and share your morning experiences. Bring a sandwich and we'll provide refreshments. If you wish to continue your visit, you may then observe two more classrooms.
